Alzola Basque Water joins the 7th edition of The Bilbao International Mountain Film Festival as a partner, recognizing the advocacy and dissemination of its protagonists, creative and adventurous and the commitment to Nature around the globe.
We devote special attention to the film director and producer Bryony Dunne, that takes us to the desert of Sinai in Egypt to demonstrate the value of Nature and the love of Amariya the naturalist, who keeps the conservation of Bedouin ochards in the mountains.
Somehow, in the spring of Alzola Basque Water we feel represented by the argument of this film. The fact of discovering a geological miracle next to us, a real hydric treasure with an unparalleled water on the planet, bring us feelings that surfaced in the movie of this young director.
The spring of Alzola has been about to disappear, what would have been a real misfortune for our society. The value, meaning and symbolism of Alzola Basque Water is imperceptible for many people, basically due to people´s deficit on Water Culture. A culture that our grandparents kept, but seems to have flied away for us, somehow, we´ve gone over the boundaries of respect for the wise people who have shared and transmitted the values of balance for a society.
As Amariya, we feel sometimes like fighting a battle for the health of a country, for values that do retrain us, to make us live with in communion with the natural resources that make us recapitulate the experiences of our ancestors, then, we are convinced that BasqueWater is part of the Basque DNA.
